60′ Halcyon
Two of these have been built in the Whitsunday Islands, Queensland, Australia.

Horst Anna built one for himself and one for a client. There has been strong interest in doing further boats with this uni-rig style.

The boat reflects Horst’s considerable cruising experience and his desire for utmost sailing simplicity, hence the style of rig.

The boats are fitted with 2 x 50hp diesels for a cruising speed under motor of approx 10/12 kts with 3 bladed folding props.
 
 
72′ Merlin
The name comes from the fact there is something magical about boats when they get to this size.

The first of this design is now cruising and working in the Pacific. The owner has emailed me saying he is learning to ignore my Polar diagram as it limits the boat to ‘15 kts’.

The performance figures are quite startling when you consider that this boat is built to survey standard and has literally every creature comfort. Particular attention was paid to the sailing systems as the owner / operator enjoys single handed sailing and with 232 sq mts of working sail the systems have to work.

We have ongoing enquiries regarding boats of this size and I feel it won’t be long before we do more in this field.

Boats of this size really come into there own at sea on long passages. They revel in conditions that slow smaller boats down.

Surprisingly it is quite possible to build this size boat for quite reasonable money if gone about correctly. The rules change when doing boats of these dimensions and only a few design offices have any experience in this size sailing catamarans.

I am happy to discuss projects of this size and complexity with serious people.
